Why the name?

Rhys Sterling is a pseudonym, and the photos? AI-generated versions of me from about 20 years ago, just a shade less handsome, if I’m being honest. I’m 54 now.

I wrestled with putting this out there, balancing the life I’ve built, my name, my career, my family, with the drive to say something real. To be this transparent. So I chose to use a pseudonym. Not to hide, but to create space to speak honestly, without setting my whole world on fire.

But I kept coming back to this: I didn’t write this because I had it all figured out. I wrote it because I couldn’t keep pretending I did.

So I made a decision. To tell the truth anyway. To create enough distance to protect what matters, and still show up fully in the work.
